How to wear your new shrug
I’m seeing them everywhere. And almost everybody is wearing them. Yes, I’m talking about the versatile shrug. They’re perfect for any occasion. Not wanting to be left behind, I decided to splurge out on a few for myself. And while doing so, I discovered so many varieties and the right way to wear them. Take a look here:
A tie front shrug with long sleeves goes with just about any outfit. It’s stylish and flattering when you wear it with that long black dress or a maxi dress. You can wear it over a summer dress, summer tees or worn over a camisole teamed with trousers or skirts. Tie-front shrugs are perfect when you want a light cover-up on slightly chilly days or evenings.
Check out the Linen silk/cotton tie front cardigan shrug. It has frilly edges and has a flattering fit. It’s available in various colors to go with any outfit. Wear it over a cotton or silk camisole for an elegant, polished look. Take a look at the Cascade tie shrug sweater from the Itineraries Collection has ¾ sleeves. It can be worn tied in the front or untied to fall gracefully at the side. It’s soft and stretchy, doesn’t wrinkle and is great when you travel.
Broadly, you should wear shrugs in a style and color that compliments the dress you’re wearing. And if you’re keen on a printed shrug, make sure the dress you’re wearing it over is plain. If you want a slimming effect, go with the same colored shrug as your dress. For example, you can wear a deep maroon shrug over a maroon camisole but go with different textures.
A plus-sized cardigan shrug in crochet adds a light and colorful touch to your outfit. The openwork crochet design lets in the breeze and provides coverage to your upper arms and shoulders. Crochet shrugs look elegant and add a dressy touch to your look.
