3 must have picnic accessories
Picnics are informal, with no dress code or any other must-do agenda. But they do call for some organizing even during summer. A few well thought out accessories can make it a success. Take a look at some things that I thought will be really handy to take along:
A tablecloth is something you can’t do without. A picnic is all about good food and you need a place to put down that all that food. There’s something about a red check tablecloth that is so ‘outdoorsy’ and fun. A Red Check Printed Fabric tablecloth looks great spread out on a table or on the grass. It’s a nice dimension, 52” wide and 70” long and you can always more than one tablecloth depending on the food and crowd. It’s easy to maintain. Just toss it into the washing machine and it cleans up easily.
Another option is the Stay-Put elastic table cover. It doesn’t shift around, stays in place and is disposable. Many picnic spots have picnic tables that you can make use of. With the stay-put cover, you don’t have to worry about a wet ground or ants and other insects.
A polyester water cooler like the roomy Picnic Time Houston Texans Mercado cooler basket is a fine accessory. You can carry along your drinks, water, cups and other items that need to be kept cool. It has a water-resistant liner and a fully removable double-sided lid. It has one exterior front pocket to hold bottle/can openers and other things. Or you can go for a cooler that comes with a built-in opener.
Cloth napkins in gingham checks will go well with your checkered tablecloth and make for an elegant picnic. Apart from being a convenient accessory for a hygienic meal, I’ve found cloth napkins useful to wrap up individual sets of plastic cutlery so it’s easy to hand out to people. You can buy them by the dozen like the 5 dozen 20×20 napkins. They come in different colors and are easy to wash.
