How to plan the perfect summer picnic
The other day I was watching Nigella Lawson’s cookery show on packing delicious food items for a picnic and I realized that it has been ages since I went on one with my family! So I decided to put together a few items and foods that would be required, along with choosing the right location.
And believe me at the end of the day, it turned out to be an amazing get together with my spouse and kids. The preparations didn’t take much time too. So here are a few tips that I would like to share with you on making your experience more fun:
1. Paper napkins
Make a list of all the things that you need for the picnic in advance. Small details can make a lot of difference. For instance, peach napkins add that elegant touch to a rustic farm picnic too. I love the color because it is very refreshing and reminds you of the pleasant autumn weather. Of course, you can choose from any other color of your choice too.
But make sure you use paper ones because they can be disposed off easily. Also, pick a size that is bigger because picnics can get a bit messy at times.
You have planned out a yummy menu including chicken drumsticks, subs, salads, juices, etc. So, you need a good basket to store all of these. Check out this Buckingham basket for four that is made with traditional full reed willow and is handcrafted. It has a convenient top carry handle and the set includes melamine plates and cotton napkins, glass wine glasses, stainless steel flatware and corkscrew.
Before you have the menu and other preparations ready, do workout the location too. Always pick a place that is not very far away from home. You don’t want to tire yourself with all that driving. Opt for locations where you can play around and spend some quality time.
