How to incorporate black into your bedroom

Black is a color that has an appeal unlike any other. It is associated with mystery, rebellion, defiance, and loss. It’s slimming, and it goes with everything. No doubt, you have a few key items in your wardrobe that are of this shade – the little black dress or the black leather jacket. So, when the time comes for you to select the perfect color palette for your bedroom, black undoubtedly surfaces as an option. Black is sophisticated and inviting, so why not have black sheets? The reasons are simple: there is such a thing as too much black and, contrary to popular belief, black does not go with everything.

If you are just beginning to take interest in the interior design of your boudoir, it’s likely that your room has no specific color scheme – a collection of mismatch furniture can be bohemian and darling, but when you have an all black bed as the centerpiece of your room, you really ought to have some kind of theme.

A great way to incorporate black into your bedroom is to do so gradually. Have neutral bed sheets – say white or gray – then top them with a black comforter and black pillows. You can either go with full black or black patterned with a neutral color. White or gray work perfectly. A textured black comforter will add subtlety and charm to your room better than going with a full-on black out color scheme.

You can further customize your bed with accented throw pillows. While it’s true that most colors work well with black, there are some that do so much better than others. Among them are gold, scarlet and navy. Patterns and accents will add depth to the room and make it more vibrant. You should also look for furniture décor that match the color scheme of your bedding.
