Christmas sweater options

Ah, yes. The Christmas sweater… long has it had the reputation of a terrible gift. Grandma would spent hours knitting a scratchy garment with Santa, or Rudolph, or maybe even Frosty the Snowman, and no matter how much tender loving care she put into her gifts, the kids would hate it. Why would they want clothes, and itchy ones at that, for Christmas when they could be getting toys!? However, when these young tikes grow up and their affinity for toys and the like has waned, a winter sweater seems to be the perfect gift. Maybe Grandma’s home-knit sweaters are out of style, but there are plenty of sweater options that your friends and family are bound to love.

  • Cashmere sweaters – are always a hit. There’s no point in avoiding the fact that these are cashmere is a pricier material, but who doesn’t like knowing someone spent a little extra on their gift? Besides that, cashmere sweaters are silky soft, and a welcome addition to any wardrobe.
  • Cardigans – are extremely versatile. They offer great layering options and fit in perfectly with geeky fashion. If you find your nephews or nieces are wearing thick black-rimmed glasses, give them a well-fitting cardigan this Christmas.
  • Turtlenecks – aren’t strictly for spies. Keep your love ones bundled up to prevent any sickness this season. Kids will probably hate it, but turtlenecks are a great gift for young adults and even old adults. Just be sure you it’s not something too tight around the neck.
  • Fisherman sweaters – have come back in a big way. Not only are these pullovers extremely warm and comfortable, they’re virtually no effort at all to wear and style. Even an oversized fisherman’s sweater will look great.

Have fun picking out clothes for your friends and family. It’s a great feeling when you find a winner that they’ll wear regularly.
