The classic Ralph Lauren scent

The most recognizable and popular scents in the Ralph Lauren Polo perfume collection is Ralph Lauren Polo Blue. Polo Blue is known for its fresh and airy scent, which is reminiscent of post-shower clean. Because it is not a bold or overpowering scent, Polo Blue is often used as an everyday perfume.
However, while Polo Blue may be the most recognized of the Polo collection, it is not the original. The original Ralph Lauren Polo perfume was created in 1978. It comes in a green bottle with gold accents, and is simply called Polo. Polo is a relic of an older time when masculinity was epitomized by strong and burly types. It smells of a rich blend of wood, tobacco, and leather. If you could capture the culture of log cabins and cigars in your nostrils, it would be Ralph Lauren Polo. While these notes are not as popular today as they were in the 1980s, they do well to define their era.
The Polo collection released two more scents after Polo Blue. In 2005, there was Polo Black, and in 2007, there was Polo Double Black. Fragrance nomenclature normally dictates that the Black version of a perfume will be more intense and bold. Ralph Lauren Polo Black does just this. It carries a sophisticated tropical scent with strong hints of citrus. Polo Black is great scent to demonstrate confidence on a night out.
By name, you would expect Polo Double Black to be even more intense, but that is not the case. Polo Double Black is milder and has shorter longevity, but it is ambitious in its differentiation from standard fragrances. It is warm and smells of spicy nutmeg, pepper, and coffee. While it is a very alluring scent, it is only compatible with a few men.
