Add a rustic wine rack to entice your dinner guests
Serving up a fantastic meal for family and guests is an art, and the kitchen is the studio. Those that cook often know that there’s more to whipping up a fantastic meal than measuring out the ingredients and following a recipe you happened to find online. Every kitchen is different, every oven is different, every stove is different, and most importantly, every meal is different. An excellent cook knows how to adjust flavors and textures to fit the palette and preferences of his diners. Besides the cooking, there’s also the plating and the hosting. Presenting your food in a beautiful fashion won’t make it any tastier, but it acts as an appetizer of sorts – your guests can feast with their eyes even before a single morsel passes their lips. Decorating your home or dining room in a fashion that will whet the appetites eager diners is important for this very reason. It can be difficult figuring out what kinds of furniture pieces and knick knacks will make tantalize the taste buds, so here are some suggestions to get you started.
- Art – if you have a budding photographer or painter in your family, the dining room is a great place to showcase some of their work. Photos of grand meals or still life of fruit let guests know what they’re in store for.
- Rustic wine rack – displaying your wine collection on the wall or in a rustic wine rack cabinet is a great way to entice your guests into imbibing before, during and after a meal. If you’re up to it, you can even make suggestions for wine pairings.
- Mini bar – yes, this is the second beverage related item on the list, but nothing goes better with food than drink and wine just isn’t for everybody.
