Cute door handle ideas
With the start of the New Year, you may be thinking about different and new ways to spruce up your home. Fortunately there is a very simple and easy way to do this, switch out your door and cabinet handles for new ones. We’ve put together a guide for the best ways to do this by style.
Vintage look
Doors that lead to your bedroom, closets, and bathrooms are usually fairly simple to replace. If you are looking for a bright and bold look for your home, switch in tinted color glass door knobs. Something like an amethyst purple color creates an elegant and understated antique look. For a true vintage and eclectic feel, mix up the doorknob styles: have some be round and circular while others are more square in shape. You can also do this to your kitchen cabinets. With the drawers choose a finish and find various pull handles in that same finish, like brass or bronze.
Modern look
Angular lines and a metal finishes, like satin nickel, are the best ways to achieve the minimalist modern look. Also all of the handles and knobs should complement each other and maintain continuity between each type of door. However, if you want a softer modern look, you should think about combining the angular lines with a darker wood finish instead of metal.
Cottage look
For a fresh linen cottage look you should focus on white mixed with lighter accent and floral patterns. Round, white porcelain doorknobs brighten up a home. For a small amount of French countryside flair, add in some wrought iron handles. This last look should include a limited color scheme so it really brings out and highlights the clean and simple style.
