How to wear Birkenstocks stylishly
The Birkenstock brand has been around a long time and well-known as a dependable comfortable shoe. Birkenstock Orthopädie GmbH & Co. KG had been set up by a shoe manufacturer and was headquartered in Vettelschoß, Germany. They would sell shoes and sandals that were notable for their contoured cork and rubber footbeds. These would conform to the feet shape of the wearer.
These came to the U.S in 1967 when an American named Margot Fraser tried them and found relief from these shoes. She renamed the brand to Birkenstock Distribution USA, Inc., in 2005. Today these cheap Birkenstock clogs have come a long way from just being birth control shoes. The shoes are known best for being comfortable and today they are available in chic designs too.
Here are a few tippers on wearing them stylishly-
The classic clogs are all about redefining your attitude… Blend comfort with simple designs to add some aura to your personality. You can sport them with cute skirts for a casual look or even with semi-formal trousers that come around the heels so no one would notice that you are wearing something casual.
As a rule of thumb, Birkenstocks should not be worn with socks. I personally feel that wearing them with socks is too nerdy. Birkenstock sandals are about letting your feet breathe, so sport them with chic shorts, flirty skirts and even maxi dresses. Check out these cute Granada sandals that double as open running shoes for picnics and weekends. This pair is perfect for moms on the go, weekend lounging or simply taking a break from restrictive formals.
Though clogs remain my favorite from the Birkenstock lot, I do enjoy their ballet styles too. These are actually a newer version of the clogs but with rich leather upper with adjustable strap for a custom fit. 100% renewable and sustainable these can be sported with almost anything for a chic look!
