Use lap desks with storage to maximize comfort at home
Laptops, tablets, and smart phones are beloved pieces of technology because of their portability above all else. A laptop is nothing more than a portable personal computer, and a desktop with the same computer power will cost a fraction of the price. Tablets are even simpler devices; they are intuitive and their applications are simple and to the point. Smart phones are very much the same as tablets, except for the fact that they are epitome of portability. It’s no surprise that we are willing to pay a premium for portable computer and usage of applications. Modern life demands immediacy; information and communication is literally at the edge of our fingertips so long as our fingertips are upon a touch screen.
While it is a fast paced life that we live in, there are still times when we need to rest and recline. Often we’ll choose somewhere comfy, say… a couch or a bed. These are great places to seek out a pause from the fast-paced and screen-saturated world, but there are stretches when the work doesn’t stop just because you’re tired. In these times, you’ll have to buckle down and take your work home with you. In these cases, it just isn’t reasonable to spend all day in front of your work desk, spend you commute constantly checking emails, and then spend your night at a desk in your bedroom.
Instead, try to unwind in your favorite pair of pajamas and a mess of pillows in bed. Nobody says you can’t be comfortable while you take care of the final bits of work for the evening. A lap desk with storage is a great way to do a bit of work in your bed while staying comfortable, not overheating, and having all your notes accessible to you. You can even find a tablet lap desks to better prop up your tablet.
