3 Margarita recipes that will turn an average night into a fiesta

One of the most popular drinks in the world is a margarita. I don’t know what it is about the combination of ice, tequila, margarita mix, and salt that makes a margarita so good, but I’m willing to investigate it further and get back to you. I think we can all agree that an ice cold margarita and a bowl of chips and  zesty salsa is always the cure for a hard days at work. For now, here are three alcoholic margarita recipes that are sure to turn any night into a fiesta.

Classic Frozen Margarita

Ingredients:

Directions:

Mix all ingredients except the salt and lime wedges in the blender. Once blended to your chosen frozen consistency, take your margarita class and rub the rim with a lime wedge, and then dip into salt. Pour the blended drink into the glass and then add the lime wedge to the rim. Enjoy with some tacos and salsa music for a fiesta filled night!

Pomegranate Margarita on the Rocks

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces of tequila
  • Splash of Cointreau
  • Splash of lime juice
  • Splash of a pomegranate liqueur
  • 2 ounces of Sour Mix
  • 1 lime cut into wedges

Directions:

In your cocktail shaker, mix the tequila with the Cointreau, lime juice and pomegranate liqueur. Then top off with sour mix, squeeze in some fresh lime juice, and shake over ice. Serve over ice in a salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge. This upscale Pomegranate margarita will have you feeling classy and refreshed!

150 calorie Frozen Watermelon Margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1 lime cut into wedges
  • 3 ½ cups of seedless watermelon cut into cubes
  • ½ cup of Tequila
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of lime juice, use fresh if you can
  • 1 tablespoon Triple Sec

Directions:

Rub the rims of 6 glasses with 1 lime wedge, then use the 2 teaspoons of sugar to rim your glasses and set them aside. In a blender combine 3 cups of crushed ice with the watermelon, tequila, sugar, lime juice and  Triple Sec, blend them until their smooth. Take your frozen margarita and pour them into the sugar rimmed glasses. Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy this drink without any added calorie guilt!
