The virtues of dressing casually
When you live a hectic life, you’re constantly on the go. Even if you are fashionably inclined, this will likely mean that it is very difficult for you to put together a proper outfit for every day. In order to compensate for the lack of time, you could reprioritize the importance of your appearance or you can develop strategies to look spiffy without spending any time. Here are some simple tips to being quick about your morning ritual and still look clean and crispy for the day.
- Short hair – if you are blessed with a normally shaped head, don’t be afraid of the crew cut, going bald, or just keeping a tight hair style. It’s an well-known secret that short hair requires nearly no maintenance and you can even occasionally get away without showering in the morning.
- Slip ons – slip on shoes are you friend when you’re dashing through the door. Depending on what function you are attending, you’ll have to adjust but a dark pair of classic Vans slip ons are easy and will get you through the door at most places. If you need dress shoes, invest in a good pair of loafers.
- Casual everything – buttons are your enemy. They are the consumers of time, and your time is limited.
- Have a defined fit and style with different variations – this is not for everybody, but if you are able to define your style to a single type of outfit, even if it is a full on suit, and you wear it every day, routine will make it simple and efficient to prep in the morning.
This doesn’t mean that you always have to be casual though, there are obviously times when you have to dress up. Spend a little more time and have a little more fun on those occasions. For all other times, relax and keep it casual.
