How to have the perfect lipstick application
Even the best lipsticks that claim to last for 8 hours fade fast due to the wrong application. So if you have been cursing the sales girls for false claims, it’s really not her fault. The right lipstick application, along with the use of a lip liner will not only give you color that lasts all day, it will also help to define your lips better and create an illusion of a different lip shape. So here’s a guide on getting the perfect pout, while maintaining healthy lips-
Start off by giving your lips a good exfoliation to get rid of dry skin. Flaky lips are poor hosts to any good base. An easy DIY idea is to mix honey and some brown sugar to scrub off those flaky bits.
A good base for smoother and softer lips would be a lip balm. Let it stay for a while by applying it prior to your makeup.
Filling in color
Invest in quality cosmetics like Revlon lipsticks that last long and provide nourishment to the lips too. Fill in the lipstick using a brush, directly from the stick or even using your fingers for a better blend. Next, get hold of a lip liner that is close to the natural color of your lipstick. This will ensure that the color will cling to the lips and doesn’t create too much of a contrast between the two.
Remember, that you have to apply, blot and then repeat the procedure for making your color stay for a longer time. Blotting can be done using a tissue.
Seal the deal
Finally, apply some translucent powder on the lips to make sure that your color won’t fade or smudge.
And though this will ensure a gorgeous color to last all day long, do keep your lipstick handy for a touch up, if needed at all!
