Flattering and comfortable plus size dress styles
Having a plus size figure myself one important and essential thumb rule I have realized is that there is no one correct size for every piece of clothing. Typically I see other plus size women going terribly wrong trying to wear either very tight or very loose clothes simply because it is ‘their size’. Clothing should be worn in order to flatter your body and not simply because of a size.
Plus size dresses, if chosen sensibly can make you look great. I love to wear a dress which emphasizes on portions of my body which are thin. A lot of my dresses are such that I can cinch with a belt at my waist. My waist is relatively narrow so a flattering belt makes the dress look dressy and interesting. Usually I prefer it loosely flowing from the bottom to a reasonable length that does not emphasize my thighs.
What I love are v-neck dresses as well. It elongates my neck very well and gives character to the attire along with that. Another idea which works well is that while neutral colors look great, wearing bold prints will speak volumes about your fashion sense. However remember balancing a daring print with neutral accessories works well.
In fact did you realize that materials of the dress also make a difference on your figure? For instance last weekend I wore a black jersey dress which made me look rather thin. Not only does it make you feel comfortable, it is the perfect lightweight fabric for the summer as well. In addition to flowing material, dark colored dresses and three quarter sleeves are two other rules which I follow as well. However, this does not mean that you have to stick to those, they are just basics. Since it is summer, you should feel free to experiment with some bright colors and bold patterns within reason. Fashion is all about confidence so as long as you feel confident then that will translate into great style.
