If you’re stuck in the office doing overtime work and the only cooking device in your pantry is a coffee maker, then you’re in luck. (Yes, coffee maker.) If you’ve always thought that the only thing a coffee maker can produce is coffee, then get ready to be amazed with the following quick and easy recipes:

Instant Oatmeal Recipe -
Ingredients:
2 packets instant oatmeal
1 teaspoon of honey
pinch of salt
8 oz water
Directions: Put all ingredients in and turn the coffee pot on. Leave for about 4-5 minutes and your oatmeal will be ready for serving.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich -
Ingredients:
2 bread slices
2 slices cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons butter
Directions: Butter one side of each bread slice and place both cheddar cheese slices on buttered side. Using the coffee pot burner, cook just as you would when using a pan and stove.

Chocolate Fondue –
Ingredients:
2 oz heavy cream
3 oz dark chocolate (broken pieces)
pinch of salt
Directions: Heat cream in the coffee pot for 15 minutes. Add chocolate and melt for another 10-15 minutes. Stir well and serve.

Basic Lentil Soup –
Ingredients:
4 oz chicken or vegetable broth
½ cup cooked lentils, rinsed and drained
1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
finely chopped carrots
finely chopped onion
salt and pepper
Directions: Heat oil in coffee pot and add onion, carrot, salt and pepper for 3-5 minutes. Add chicken or vegetable broth and bring to boil. Add lentils and cook for additional 3-5 minutes. Serve.

Chili Roasted Pecans -
Ingredients:
a handful of pecans
1 cup water
2 tablespoons sugar
a pinch of salt
Chipotle chili
Directions: Pour water, salt, and sugar in coffee pot. Add water and stir in the nuts. Drain nuts and sprinkle with Chipotle chili.

Poached Chicken and Couscous –
Ingredients:
chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
2 tablespoons butter
½ cup couscous
water
seasoning
Directions: Heat ½ cup water in coffee pot. Put chicken, butter, and seasoning for 15 minutes. Flip chicken and cook for another 15 minutes. Take chicken out and pour couscous in coffee pot with the water used for the chicken. Add seasoning for more flavor. Let sit for another 5 minutes before serving with chicken.
