One of the best ways to stay healthy and be true to your vegan diet is to have a well planned meal. A well planned vegan diet will not only keep you healthy but also help you get back into shape. Slowly but steadily a lot of people have begun to understand its benefits.

Famous and influential figures such as Bill Clinton have shown a lot of enthusiasm towards a vegan diet. Justin Timberlake’s track “Bring it down to veganville” suggests that a lot of people are giving up their steaks and hamburgers for a more healthy option. It wasn’t long ago when the word ‘Vegan” was unknown to the general population and now there are confirmed reports from Google saying that the search for the “word” vegan has grown significantly. About 2.5% of the people living in America consider themselves vegan now. This is quite a rise from less than 1% a couple of years ago.

The reasons for the rise in veganism are quite straightforward. Vegan diets are high in fiber and protein and low in fat and cholesterol. This is a significant reason considering the continuous rise in cardiovascular diseases. There are then ethical and environmental reasons that persuade the modern day person to move towards veganism. Lastly, if celebrities like Justin Timberlake or talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres embrace this idea, then it does get people thinking about it.

The ideal behind veganism has spread thanks to its popularity, but long-term acceptance is still a challenge. Acceptance to a change as significant as this does take time and patience. The positive note here would be that at least people now have heard about veganism and are talking about it. Spreading the word is the first step in the acceptance and evolution of a lifestyle such as veganism. This might not feel like a huge progress, but considering that a decade ago nobody knew what veganism was it seems like a step forward.

Super markets these days promote vegan diet products as well as organic vegan food. The largest super markets have dedicated sections only to veganism. Once again this is a huge improvement from the times when one could hardly find any vegan products in supermarkets.

So, as you can see, veganism is on the rise and it looks like it will continue to do so over the next decade!
