Renee

I recently graduated from Cal State East Bay with a degree in Business Administration and am enjoying figuring out what I want to do in life. My hobbies include shopping, cooking, making my own beauty products, exploring the Bay Area with friends, and taking on DIY projects. Currently I am teaching myself how to sew clothing, since I’ve gotten bored with what department stores have to offer and because my tastes are very particular. I’ve travelled to India, France, and England and would love to see Japan and Taiwan. I’m pretty open to trying new things, especially if it involves learning a skill that will last a lifetime!

I’m a recent graduate from Sonoma State University with a degree in English, so my first passion is writing and my second, which is by no means less important, is reading.
I’m a big fan of reading – Harry Potter is my favorite book series of all time – and when I’m not reading, I enjoy playing video games and watching movies. I also love browsing YouTube for a good Let’s Play or cat video. Some of my favorite movies are when Harry Met Sally and Anchorman. I’ve lived in the Bay Area most of my life and absolutely love it here.

I was raised for most of my life in Southern California, where I also recently graduated from college with a degree in English. I am constantly adding to a running list in my head of places I would like to travel to someday, and I look forward to checking some of these places off while exploring the Bay Area. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering, discovering new music, reading a good book and trying out new restaurants.

As a Silicon Valley native, technology is a central part of my life. When I am not at home taking in all the wonders of the social media revolution, I am probably taking in a game or dominating opponents in a friendly sports match. Usually you can find me on the ice playing hockey – and contrary to popular belief, there is in fact competitive ice hockey in the Golden State. I even played college ice hockey while attending school down in surfer-central Southern California. Don’t bother me on Sundays though, as you will find me on the couch cheering on my favorite teams and frivolously giving them “friendly” advice through the TV screen.

I am a recent graduate of San Jose State University. I spent most of my time there roaming from class to class, catching up with friends, and oh yeah… working on a degree! I graduated with a bachelor’s in Business Marketing which officially says “I is smart!”
Competitive by nature, I strive to be the very best I can. I’m passionate about playing sports, specifically hockey, football, baseball, and golf. I am a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, so I do in fact bleed green. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends, browsing Youtube for the latest laugh, or playing with my two dogs. I love making people laugh, making new friends, and don’t mind working hard to achieve goals.

I should start off by saying the same thing I tell everyone when I first meet them: when I was nine years old, I made my parents buy me every James Bond movie there was. All those VHS’s take up a lot of space in my room. Biking, history, and reading Gabriel Garcia Marquez novels are my passions. I’ve given quite a few of my friends the silent treatment until they’ve made good on their vow to read “100 Years of Solitude” – a promise I more than likely coerced them into.
I have lived in the Bay Area all my life and graduated from San Jose State University in 2010 with a degree in public relations. I spent a good deal of time since then traveling and trying to pick up a few new languages.
Thanks for reading about me. Now that we’ve been acquainted, make sure you read the book.

One of my greatest passions in life is traveling and studying abroad to learn about different cultures, and connecting with a distinct range of people who share the same passion for learning and adventure. More importantly, I am a recent graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Science in Public Health and a Marketing minor from Eller College of Business Management. I have held previous internships at Scottsdale media and small public relations/marketing firms. Residing in the desert for five years had stripped me of all aspects of civilization (being a native to the Bay Area and all) but has allowed me to find my true love for the outdoors! In my downtime I like to swim, hike, write, and play with my miniature poodle Sammy.

I was born and raised in Mumbai, India and came to the US to join my hubby. I am currently doing my Master’s in Business Administration from CSU East Bay. I was always interested in online marketing and more specifically in gaining knowledge in search marketing. During my free time I love to read books and cook food. I also love to travel and believe that meeting new people and learning about their culture and their way of life broadens your outlook. I tried my hand at skiing last season and am eager to go back this winter.

After studying Advertising for 4 years in Dallas, TX I definitely found myself missing the California weather and culture. I don’t miss the 115 degree summers and 20 degree winters but I really miss the food. Nothing beats Texas BBQ and Fried Chicken.
You can usually find me wrenching in my garage, rock climbing, or out driving whether it be at the track or in the beautiful mountains that I missed so much. And if its winter time those mountains will definitely be covered in snow as I also love bombing mountains not only in a car, but also on a snowboard.

Thai food and bagels toasted with cream cheese are my favorites, but more importantly I am a recent graduate from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. I was also born and raised in San Jose, but don’t for one second think that makes me closed minded. I love trying new things, meeting new people and writing about many subjects. I’ve written news stories, movie review blogs and even features for the “tween” age group.

After rotting away in Central California for 7 years after high school, I decided to finally go to college. I attended SFSU and graduated in 2010 with a degree in marketing. In addition to being a pro wrestling encyclopedia, I’m an avid Giants and 49ers fan and can quote Seinfeld at any time. Don’t think I’m a couch potato though, I enjoy playing softball, snowboarding, and going to the gym.
Max

If I could have a super power, it would definitely be flying. Originally from Russia, I spend every moment I can gallivanting about the Bay Area and abroad as a semi-professional dancer. I love to travel, and nothing compares with the thrill of taking those first few steps in a new city. Whether on the road or at home, I’m a hopeless social media addict – and in a way that makes a lot of sense. Scouring the web for morsels of hidden knowledge can be fulfilling in the same way as discovering new and exciting people and places.
I’m happy to share my love for life and adventure by writing about all the great ways to get the most out of that road. Happy trails!

To quote one of my favorite comedians, “If you ain’t first, you’re last,” said Ricky Bobby (Will Farrell) in the film “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.” Now what’s that supposed mean? Well I strive to be the best in every endeavor I pursue, and if I’m not No. 1, then I need to try harder. I’m pulling out all the stops to achieve my goals in life. One piece of paper has already got the ball rolling. I’m a recent journalism (magazine emphasis) graduate from San Jose State University. I have a variety of passions including video games, sports, outdoor actives and Internet memes. In another life, I would be Bear Grylls.

Being born and raised in one city my whole life, I’m constantly dreaming of traveling to exotic countries. The best way I’ve learned to experience the world (without actually leaving the country) is through food. I love trying new dishes and restaurants, but am only beginning to learn how to cook. I recently graduated from San Jose State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a magazine emphasis. With music I can do anything, and I am constantly badgering my friends with song recommendations. If the weather is right, you’ll find me outside laying on the grass with friends or going for a bike ride.

I’m going to be bold and openly admit that I was a huge Power Ranger fan as a kid. I really wanted to be the Green Ranger, which prompted the start of my Tae Kwon Do life. Since my start in the 90’s, Tae Kwon Do has manifested into a pseudo-religion for me. It’s a reason for me to stay healthy and it drives my desire to learn more about fitness.
I have consolidated everything I attained during my studies at UC San Diego as a Biology major, the athletic knowledge I’ve accrued over many years, and the relevant information I’ve read in blogs/journals to apply to myself. I have seen amazing results without compromising my relatively lavish lifestyle too much. I hope to pass these tools to achieve personal success onto readers of the Be Active Health Blog.

Some people might call me cheap, but I find great satisfaction in comparison shopping, coupon cutting and second-hand treasures. When I can, I try to make things by hand to save money and exercise my creativity. I hope you like my product blog posts. I try to make them interesting with sprinklings of time saving and money saving tips just for you. Enjoy!
