Iron Fireplace Screens – Keep Warm Safely

We spend every Christmas at my husband’s parent’s home. The Christmas tradition at Ash’s home is that after dinner the family gathers before the fireplace and reminisces about the year gone by. Last year, as we sat before the fire, I noticed that their fireplace screen was looking quite worn down. I mentioned the same to Ash. He asked me to shortlist a few iron fireplace screens so that his parents could choose from them and we could order one as soon as possible. Accordingly, I looked around and finally short listed four iron fireplace covers. Each had a distinct style and fit into our budget.

The first was the Antique Gold Iron Fireplace Screen. This classic heat-resistant fireplace screen with a gold antique finish has a scrolling pattern. Its side panels are 12” wide while its middle panel is 25” wide.

The second was an Iron Leaf Fireplace Screen. This unique fireplace has a rustic finish. It is heat-resistant and has an attractive ornate leaf motif. It has the dimensions of 36 1/2″W x 31.5″H x 8.25″D which means that it is wide enough to fit most standard fireplaces.

I was not sure whether Ash’s parents would like screens with elaborate designs so I also short-listed the Geometric Fireplace Screen. This elegant hand forged iron fireplace screen has a design composed of lines and quadrilaterals. It has a mahogany finish that is accented with heavy black distressing that gives it an understated antique look. It has a black metal mesh screen.

The 3 – Panel Black Iron Fireplace Screen has a bit of both- a scroll and oak leaf motif, and straight lines. The screen has a black wrought iron construction and a tightly woven mesh. When the side panels of the screen are folded at 45 degrees it has a total coverage of up to 42”.

We sent this list to Ash’s parents. They liked the Antique Gold Iron Fireplace Screen the best and we ordered the same to be delivered to their house. They seemed quite delighted by the effect it has on the décor of their living room. I just can’t wait to see it first hand!
