Fourth of July is coming up this weekend, and I know where I’m going to be spending it– the beach!! It’s been something of a tradition for me and my friends over the past few years to drive up to Santa Cruz on the 4th, set up a couple of beach cabana tents, and hang out the beach all day, and enjoy the fireworks at night.

If you don’t have a beach cabana tent yet, you should definitely look into getting one. Now that the weather is warming up, camping & hiking are picking up.  Many of you are thinking about spending a nice relaxing weekend outdoors.  If you want to  enjoy a wilderness experience, there’s a lot of equipment you could use, from camping chairs and a sleeping bag to a cooking equipment such as a single-burner stove.  But if you’re going to camp out overnight, the most important piece of equipment to have is a tent.

Tents are often divided up into the number of seasons they are prepared for.  A 1 season tent will generally be lighter and cheaper, but it can only handle summer weather.  Anything more and you might wake up wet!  A 3 season tent is built to withstand weather for spring, summer and fall, and can handle strong winds, fairly heavy rain, and even a little  snow. This type of tent is suitable for most people who enjoy casual camping around the year.  A 4 season tent, for the dedicated outdoor enthusiast, will be able to handle all but the most extreme weather conditions.
