Welcome music and movie Tuesdays, under my new authorship. Here at Become we all miss Joe the Intern, and I have some pretty big shoes to fill (seriously I do, having Joe around was like working with Ronald McDonald or Peggy Hill). I’ll try and continue the grand old (6 week) tradition of telling you about the latest movies and music.
Oh, and TV shows, can’t forget them. In fact, they will be the focus this week the start of the new fall season for the big networks.
Two and a Half Men – The Complete Fourth Season
This is one of those series that people love to hate, but has slowly won itself a following. Charlie Sheen plays Charlie Harper, a womanizing bachelor with a large house in Malibu. After his neurotic brother Alan (played by Jon Cryer) divorces his wife, he and his son move in with Charlie, Charlie and Alan have to get used to living with each other’s wildly different personalities. The new season started September 22nd, so get caught up now!
The Godfather – Coppola Restoration Giftset
The Godfather and the Godfather Part II are two of the greatest movies of all time, and the Godfather Part III is the completion of the grand saga of the Corleone family. All three movies are together in one great package, following the Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone, boss of a major Mafia crime family, and Al Pacino as his son and successor. The Godfather rightfully listed as the third greatest movie of all time by the American Film Institute.
Boston Legal is one of the few drama shows not about cops or doctors, it is instead about lawyers! (Did you already guess? It was the legal, wasn’t it) The show is a fairly popular spin off of the Practice, and follows the cases and personal lives of James Spader, John Larroquette, Candice Bergman… and William Shatner! Yes, Shatner is proving that he can actually do serious drama, and break away from that one character role that we all remember him from. (I am referring, of course, to Sergeant T. J. Hooker). Boston Legal also started its new season yesterday, so familiarize yourself with this complex, gripping thriller.
